Aloha from Tennessee! I'm Rayna Mercer, owner of Ray of Light Photography in Franklin, TN. You should know I'm a Hawaii-lovin', Starbucks-addicted hiker who loves a good challenge. Any challenge.
I've recently moved my photography business here to beautiful Tennessee, and I'm looking forward to working with you. Why do I say Aloha? Because you can take a girl away from Hawaii, but you can never take Hawaii out of the girl. We used to live there, and I absolutely loved it! However, I did grow up in Florida, so I'm still a Southern girl at heart.
I've been photographing anything and everything for over 30 years. I bought my first SLR when I was 13. In 2005, after shooting in many different mediums (print, slide and ultimately digital), I opened up Ray of Light Photography in Rapid City, South Dakota. I sold nature images and then moved into portrait, wedding and commercial photography.
My style is working in and with nature. I prefer the natural backgrounds with my weddings and portrait images, so I always work those into my sessions. If you're looking to book a photographer for any images outdoors, look no further.
My photos have been published in The National Great Rivers Museum, The Dahl Museum, Austin Wedding Day Style Magazine, Humps n' Horns Magazine, The Black Hills Bandit, and Air Mobility Forum.
I'm looking forward to getting to know each of you and helping create images you will love. And if we have a cup of java during our meetings, all the better. I promise you will have fun and laugh when we work together. I wouldn't have it any other way. Cheers!
